Can I tone my Abs Fast?

Everyone wants six pack abs.

So the common questions  are; what workouts should I do and how long will it take to achieve six pack status”?

To answer the first question, you need to understand that exercises that isolate the abs and core will not help get to you goal. This is because your stomach has a layer of fat over it, and in order to see your abdominal muscles you need to lower your body fat percentage.

Just working your abs does not burn fat because you are using so few muscles during exercises like situps, crunches and other ab isolation exercises. These kind of exercises are good for building up and strengthening your abs, but won’t burn any fat.

If you want to burn fat, you need to use multiple muscle groups, because it is the muscles that use up calories during and after a workout. That means the best bet for lowering your body fat % are full body workouts. When you  use more muscles you will burn more calories, which results in a lower body fat %. You need to get below 10 % in order to really see those abs. This does vary based on if you are male or female,  your age, etc. but 10% is a good number to shoot for.
